The Young Filmmakers Showcase is a free community event celebrating under twenty-five filmmakers. Free submissions are now open for filmmakers to submit a short film. Selected short films will be showcased at Birch Carroll and Coyle Cinemas Maroochydore in May 2010. Films can be up to eight minutes long in any category or genre, animation, experimental, narrative drama, comedy, music clip or documentary. Submissions close the 30th April 2010. The aim is to unite young filmmakers and inspire future filmmakers by encouraging young people to share ideas, have their voices heard on issues of concern to them, showcase their talents and celebrate their contribution to the community. This free film event will be held on Sunday the 16th of May 2010 creating an opportunity for the young filmmakers of the Sunshine Coast to expand their filmmaking experience.
